After several years of efforts, the institute has systematically researched and optimized the composition, structure, performance and process parameters of the products, completed the research and development and engineering design of a full set of process technology and related thermal equipment, machinery and automation equipment, and A number of key core technology breakthroughs have been achieved, and the entire production line has achieved the localization of materials and equipment. From January 5th to 25th, 2015, the scientific research personnel of the institute conducted a pilot test of architectural glass-ceramics on the float glass pilot line with a daily melting capacity of 2.5 tons.

The president of the institute, Cheng Jinshu, told reporters that compared with the traditional sintering method and calendering method, this technology reduces the surface grinding and polishing of the product, the product yield can reach more than 90%, and the overall cost can be reduced by 30% -50%. The advent of new float glass decoration glass-ceramic products will change the pattern of building interiors, exterior walls, floors, and decoration materials, lead the development of building decoration glass-ceramics industry, and promote the technological progress of the industry.
